Starting September 1st, just a few more days, the sketches and card examples will begin so this is my last heart to heart message.
My concept of this blog is truly to highlight the work of all types of card makers. During the first few weeks I'll have my cards up as examples but it fizzles out to a rare appearance (I'll show a few cards that I've been making for our troops, my husbands cousin is on his way to Iraq right now). I want the site to be about every one else. I have a supreme love of creating sketches which is why I'm a sketch artist at Apron Strings and The ScrapRoom. I encourage you to check both of them out. If you do join, I don't get anything for it but it would be nice of you to mention my name so they know I'm still alive! The customer service for both clubs is top notch and their kits are fully packed and very well coordinated.
Over at Apron Strings they have an exclusive double page sketch created by me which can be used for either their Bigger Than a Breadbox or Smaller Than a Breadbox kits, yes they have two totally different kits each month! Plus they showcase an exclusive card sketch also created by me. When you work on both sketches, and a 3rd (using the sketch in a altered way), you get entered into their monthly challenge for a prize, you'll find more information by joining their yahoo group. I'll also be posting the double page and card sketches on my blog on the 25th of each month here (there is a delay with the months): Sketches with SusieQScrapbook.
At The ScrapRoom they have an exclusive single layout sketch created by me for the Newsletter Sketch Monthly Challenge and there is a prize giveaway! Check their message board on the first of each month for the sketch to arrive. You'll have until the 23rd of the month to upload a layout to that thread. The winner will be shown on the 25th of the month in their online newsletter (which I'm the editor of!). I'll also be posting the sketch on my blog here: Sketches with SusieQScrapbook. Wait, there's more! For kit club members only, there is a monthly card recipe download (sketch and cutting directions) and a sentiment download. I've created a multi use sketch which can be used by all four of their monthly kits along with an example from each kit. What a great way to use the leftovers.
So here we go, starting a new adventure together. Right from the beginning this blog took on a life of it's own. I hope we continue together as long as possible. Your encouragement and support is truely appreciated and desperately needed! I'm going to need lots of hugs and cheering on along the way!
There are some awesome card artists coming your way! You can be one of them! I'll give some hints as to what is in store down the road. October is filling up with some very unique sketch ideas, some of which will have special calls (located on the left side of the blog). After we stuff ourselves with Turkey in November there will be a bunch of long length cards (business size) that are truly inspiring. If all goes well I hope to have multiple printable template downloads for the month of December! Plus there are fun themes such as circles, dresses, and holidays!
ACK! I better get going! I've been working very hard behind the scenes. I'm a big planner and organizer. It does get stressful so your encouragement is what keeps me going strong, so chime in and give a shout out!
